At the close of the informational meeting, the Panton Town Clerk/Treasurer Kyle Rowe outlined the next steps: each town should hold a public hearing on the boundary options, and the legislative bodies should form a working group composed of members of those bodies to finalize an agreement. Completed agreements would then return to each full legislative body for formal approval.
Staff told attendees that many parcels in the proposed negotiated line are already surveyed and that establishing an alternative line would incur survey expense but that those costs were not expected to be significant. Staff proposed a target timeline that could meet an April 1, 2026, completion date if the working group and hearings proceed on schedule. The meeting adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
