The Vergennes City Council approved the FY26 General Fund, Fire Fund, Sewer Fund and Swimming Pool budgets and set the city tax rate for fiscal year 2026 during its June 24 meeting.
Deputy Mayor Austin moved to adopt the FY26 General Fund Budget, which lists expenses totaling $3,336,867.28; the motion, seconded by Alderman Koenig, passed 7-0. The council also approved the FY26 Fire Fund Budget ($352,458.45), the FY26 Sewer Fund Budget ($1,335,157.00) and the Swimming Pool Budget ($114,660.00). The swimming pool item included a conditional addition of $11,000 to the Watershed fund "if available."
