"The Land and Water Conservation Fund grant has been awarded, for $67,213 in funding," the mayor said. Council members and staff encouraged community participation in fundraising and noted an upcoming park revitalization committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Morningside Event Center where fundraising and match strategy will be discussed.
Staff clarified the grant is intended for playground equipment replacement and that the city hopes to match the awarded amount through local fundraising and other sources. The council encouraged public attendance at the committee meeting and said staff will follow up with timeline and matching requirements.
