Select Board member Rosemary moved to give town employees a $150 annual holiday payment and the board approved the motion following brief discussion about past years’ amounts. "Last year, they increased it $50 because it had been $100 for many, many years," Rosemary said; after discussion the chair called for the vote and the board approved the payment.
Board members debated whether to make the amount part of the regular budget process going forward or to adopt a percentage increase year to year. Several members suggested adding a line in future budgets so the payment is covered without an additional vote. The motion carried by voice vote; the board directed staff to include the payment in future budget planning.
