The police chief presented the department report and noted the agency received reaccreditation from the Pacific Northwest Accreditation Alliance. The chief said he would invite Scott Hayes, executive director of the Accreditation Alliance, to explain the accreditation process at a future meeting. "The Pacific Northwest Accreditation Alliance, issued our award," the chief said, describing the reaccreditation as confirmation the department follows best practices.
The chief introduced recent academy graduate Mercedes Domas, who spoke briefly and thanked the community, and announced Wayne Dice was promoted to sergeant following an assessment center. The chief also reported staffing updates, continued training and added emphasis on DUI enforcement, noting multiple arrests in a recent weekend; councilors welcomed the visibility and community engagement by officers.
