Council appoints members to Main Street Interchange advisory and technical committees

Council considered appointments for the Main Street Interchange Area Management Plan and unanimously approved a slate of appointees to both the Public Advisory Committee and the Technical Advisory Committee through project completion in January 2027. Councilor 11 moved a motion listing the appointees for both committees by name; the motion included local business owners, public-district representatives and technical participants. Staff said the first meetings will begin the week of June 9 and that the public advisory committee will likely meet at the end of the day for easier public participation.

Councilors discussed emergency-services representation on the TAC and scheduling logistics; staff said the TAC will likely meet during the day while the public advisory committee will be scheduled later to allow public attendance. Project staff described the effort as long-reaching: "This will have impact on the city for years and years to come," a staff member said, and councilors emphasized the need for broad representation and ongoing coordination with ODOT and state partners.
