Council says sidewalks and rail-crossing projects help secure $3 million in Complete Streets grants

"Because of our Complete Streets participation, we have an upcoming project at Industrial Drive where we are worth approximately $3,000,000 in grant funding because of our Complete Streets participation," Miranda said. He told colleagues that the grant funding could be at risk if connected projects are not completed.
Councilors debated whether pedestrian use in industrial areas justifies sidewalks; some noted workers and visitors do use those roads and that improved pedestrian access helps employees reach workplaces. After discussion, council voted on the consent agenda as amended and approved the related items by roll call.
