Public commenters demand forensic audit, administrative leaves over district concerns

During the public-comment period, multiple speakers urged the board to take accountability steps and to preserve school heritage documents.
Jacqueline Anderson, speaking for Sumner Academy alumni, asked that the Clarence Owens alumni room and related artifacts be preserved and integrated into the Sumner Academy learning experience. "Please, don't touch it. Maintain it," she said, and asked the district to treat artifacts as part of curriculum and institutional memory.
Two speakers with the surname Lynch pressed the board on more serious institutional concerns. Sarah Lynch read a written statement calling for community support for students who feel unsafe or unheard; later a different speaker identified as Luis Lynch used the three-minute public-comment allotment to demand a forensic audit, administrative leave for certain administrators and to raise allegations of conflicts of interest. "We are demanding a forensic audit be done. We are demanding an administrator and the HR director put on administrative leave until it is finished," Lynch said. Board leadership responded that a member of the administrative team would follow up with speakers and that any required action items would be reported back to the board; no immediate personnel action was taken on the floor.
