At the March 18 meeting the Town of Surry Select Board voted to accept the Finance Committee Charter with an edit to item #5. Chris Stark moved to accept the charter with the edit and Pat Kane seconded; Mary Allen moved to amend the motion so item #5 would read, "Review timely monthly reports from the town's treasurer," Pat Kane seconded, and the amendment passed unanimously.
Board members said the goal is to create a simplified monthly financial report format for the treasurer that provides useful information to both the finance committee and the Select Board without adding significant extra time to the treasurer’s workload. The board agreed to review an example report from Tom Welgoss to determine an appropriate format.
