Cemetery commission asks planning commission to correct town-plan map and text

Linda McColl, who identified herself as chair of the cemetery commission, urged the planning commission during public comment to update the town plan’s text and mapping to correct errors she said misidentify the cemetery and surrounding common. She cited specific pages, saying the plan’s map “shows that whole area as Maple Grove Cemetery” and that the Hearst House reference on page 19 needs correction.
"It says the I can write those up for you, but those paragraphs need to be changed," McColl said, offering to provide draft text to clarify the plan and to avoid mapping that implies the town common is deeded as cemetery land. Planning commissioners agreed the mapping fidelity needs attention and encouraged her to submit written corrections so staff and Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) staff can incorporate them into the revision process.
