Public works director (S5) asked the council to approve two purchases: a replacement flow meter for the city’s 3rd well (required by the state to record daily flows) and a liftgate for a sanitation truck that will reduce injuries when collecting heavy materials. "That meter has currently stopped working, so we need to replace that," the director said.
Two separate motions were read. Council approved purchase of a water meter from Ferguson Water Works not to exceed $7,210.97 and authorized the director to sign documents; the motion passed unanimously. The council also approved purchase of a liftgate from United Industrial Equipment not to exceed $6,998, to be funded from sanitation capital; that motion also passed unanimously.
