Council reviewed and approved several event requests for late May and beyond. Director Kevin presented the Function Projection street-closure request for May 29–30 with the same routes and staffing as prior years; staff and an insurance representative noted an updated vendor insurance condition of $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate for food and nonalcoholic drink providers. "So the $1,000,000 per occurrence with the $2,000,000 aggregate for food and nonalcoholic drink providers," the insurance representative said, as councilors confirmed conditions would mirror recent festival approvals.
A separate request asked to use the gated area behind the community center for a Show-and-Shine during the Function Projection; OLCC compliance and security-access controls were required and staff indicated the area would be locked and monitored during the event. The Scandinavian (Sandy) Run street-closure request was also approved with a specified closure window. Council motions authorizing the closures and conditioned vendor requirements passed by recorded consent.
