Historical commission requests town help for cemetery repairs and First House programming

Linda McColl introduced herself as "Linda McColl, chair of the summary commission," and said volunteers are scheduled for cemetery repairs on Saturday, June 14 and asked whether the town could provide "3 yards of the fine crushed stone from Swanton" to fill the backside of the cemetery circle. McColl also described progress on the First House restoration (historic tools and space for urns) and a plan to collaborate with the historical society on open houses and student tours.
Chair and other board members discussed liability and accessibility: the Chair reminded the group that if the upstairs is opened to the public it must meet ADA requirements and likely needs a railing and possibly a ramp; the board agreed to check with the town insurance carrier whether activities with students would be covered under the town umbrella. McColl confirmed volunteers are scheduled for June 14 and will coordinate logistics with town staff.
