Commission continues consideration of CO‑20 corridor development plan to Nov. 20

The commission voted unanimously on Nov. 6 to continue CO‑20, a proposed major amendment to a corridor development plan for the property south and west of the southwest corner of East 81st Street South and South Garnett Road, to the Nov. 20 meeting for additional review.
Staff described CO‑20 as a new development plan that would replace prior standards for the parcel and would permit an athletics facility classed as a large assembly and entertainment use, along with revised rules for setbacks, signs, landscaping, and lighting. Because CO‑20 was presented as a major amendment, staff and the applicant agreed that additional time is appropriate to refine development standards. Commissioner Craddock moved to continue the item; Commissioner Rosene Robinson seconded and the motion carried 10‑0.
The continuance means staff and the applicant will provide revised standards and responses to technical concerns before the next TMAPC hearing on Nov. 20.
