Board members described conflicting historical maps and a 1968 notation that appeared to have shortened the recorded class‑3 portion of the road. Committee member (speaker 6) said the town's map currently shows 0.25 miles of class‑3 and 0.05 miles of class‑4 and that some other records show different lengths. He recommended hiring Mr. Swanson to walk the road, review land records and determine whether the road is a town road: "I know a guy... Larry Swanson, who's semi retired surveyor who's done a ton of these roads..." the committee member said. The board passed a motion to retain him to "answer these questions related to the road and conduct a survey, whatever form that takes."
The board discussed cost‑containment measures, asking the surveyor to first do record research and preliminary exploration rather than immediately producing a full meets‑and‑bounds survey; if Swanson finds the road is a town road, the town will then determine what upgrades, if any, are required and how to proceed with plowing obligations and potential improvements.
