To reduce financial risk, staff recommended spending about $2,500 for exploratory borings to confirm whether ledge exists at the site before committing to full construction: "I think the last time I had somebody good mark, there's 2,500," the foreman said.
Board members discussed joint decisions about purchasing an excavator hammer versus continuing to rent that equipment and asked staff to proceed with boring and to return with cost estimates and funding plans (including potential Better Backroads and FEMA reimbursements).
