Lauren Ledbetter named Mountain View transportation manager, outlines priorities

Lauren Ledbetter, the City of Mountain View's new transportation manager, introduced herself and described priorities for the transportation division. "My name is Lauren Ledbetter, and I recently joined the city of Mountain View as the transportation manager," she said, adding she has "20 years of experience as a transportation planner, 13 of those in the public sector."

Ledbetter said her team is responsible for understanding the city's transportation system and future trends and for working with the city council and the community to establish a strategic vision. She listed several active efforts led by the department, including the citywide active transportation plan, the Rangstorf Avenue Complete Streets Corridor study, the Saferids to School program and the Community Shuttle. The manager urged residents to engage with staff and share feedback as projects move forward.

The announcement positions public works and transportation planning around multi-modal projects and community outreach. Ledbetter described the department's role as combining long-term planning with project-level work, from corridor studies to programs aimed at school safety and shuttle service. She invited residents to meet the team and provide input as plans progress.
