The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission voted to initiate proposed zoning code amendments at the request of the Tulsa Preservation Commission that would amend rules for accessory buildings and structures visible from the street in Historic Preservation (HP) districts and eliminate the 30‑day time limit for HP applications.
Staff said the Preservation Commission provided a memo outlining background and proposed changes; if initiated TMAPC staff and the Preservation Commission will conduct outreach in HP neighborhoods, present draft amendments at a February 5 work session, and hold a public hearing on March 5 before forwarding recommendations through the City Council process. The Commission voted 6‑0 to initiate the code amendments (motion by Commissioner Hood; second by Commissioner Craddock).
