Dental office rezoning on Garnett Road continued after neighbor objects to tree removal and shared access

Priscila Jelsing’s application to rezone ±1.81 acres north of the northwest corner of East 101st Street South and South Garnett Road (Z‑7780) to OL for a proposed dental office was continued by the Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission on Aug. 7, 2024. Staff recommended approval of the rezoning only if the related Comprehensive Plan amendment (CPA‑111) also passed; the commission voted to continue the zoning and related CPA to the Aug. 21 meeting to allow the applicant and a concerned neighbor to resolve issues.
Applicant representative Clark Bracken said he planned a small dental office adjacent to a recently completed multifamily development. Neighbor Remson Britel, who lives next door and shares a driveway with the applicant, opposed the rezoning and said the applicant had not contacted him; he also raised concerns about removal of trees that provide privacy and a noise buffer from the Creek Turnpike. Commissioners suggested a continuance to allow direct discussion; the motion to continue passed (Walker motion; Hood second) with a 6‑2‑0 tally.
