The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission approved a minor amendment to Planned Unit Development PUD‑823‑A to increase allowable east‑facing wall sign area for a building along South Sheridan Road.
Staff said the building has 188.5 feet of wall facing South Sheridan Road and, under current PUD standards, wall signs were limited to 94.25 square feet. The applicant proposed a 138.53‑square‑foot sign, requiring an increase of 44.28 square feet; staff concluded that the resulting rate (~0.74 sq ft per linear foot) remained substantially below typical commercial allowances and would not be injurious to the nearby residential neighborhood to the south. "Given the distance from South Sheridan Road and the scale of the building, staff has found the requested increase would not be injurious to the surrounding area," staff wrote in the report.
The Commission approved the consent‑agenda item with a 6‑0 vote (motion by Commissioner Craddock; second by Commissioner Shivel). The approval only applies to east‑facing walls and does not change sign standards for walls facing the residential area to the south. No public speakers addressed the item.
