District staff and OSBA‑drafted model language underpinned a multi‑section policy rewrite discussed at the Dec. 8 meeting. Director of Operations Daymond Monteith reviewed Sections C and E (first reading) and Sections A, B and D (second reading). Board members raised concerns about volume, duplicate language, and specifics such as board communications and residency language for at‑large positions; the Board voted to table several readings to allow focused review and suggested edits.
Separately, the Board approved the revised GBCA policy governing staff religious dress and grooming and asked the superintendent to develop an Administrative Regulation to clarify expectations by grade level and ensure consistent application across schools. The Board asked staff to return revised drafts at a future meeting.
