Ponderosa students report athletics, family support events and Glee Club donation

Ponderosa Middle School students Olivia Fenner and Ashlynn Lemieux updated the board on school activities and family supports on Jan. 12. They reported strong athletic participation—girls basketball concluded with improvement and boys basketball had higher tryout demand after allowing some sixth graders to try out—and a coed wrestling program. The school prepared 13 holiday food boxes through community donations and hosted Bobcat Boutique events where families selected donated clothing.
Students also described the Holiday Store where students used Bobcat Bucks to purchase gifts, and noted a $739 anonymous donation in September that supported music education, enabling a new Glee Club to purchase music books, shirts, and a PA speaker. Board members thanked students and staff for their work and asked questions about athletic participation and the new Glee Club.
