District posts budget calendar; public Budget Committee meetings set for April and May

Director of Operations Daymond Monteith presented the district’s 2026 budget calendar to the board on Jan. 12. Key dates include an optional Budget Committee training on April 22, the first Budget Committee meeting and release of the budget message on April 29 (with a public comment opportunity), a second Budget Committee meeting on May 20, and formal board adoption in June 2026. Monteith said the proposed budget will be posted on the district website at least one week prior to the April 29 meeting.
Most Budget Committee positions are filled but one community position remains open; a District Equity Committee member will also serve on the Budget Committee. Monteith explained that audit services are provided by a local accounting firm (Molatore, Scroggin, Peterson & Co.), and that the district recently completed the audit and is transitioning into budget season. The board and public will have multiple opportunities to review and comment on proposals before formal adoption.
