Staff informed the commission that Chairman Holmes had resigned effective at this meeting because his job responsibilities were changing. Staff said Vice Chairman Berg would succeed Holmes as chairman and serve the remainder of the term until the next election in January.
Staff also noted the city has advertised to fill Commissioner Combs's unexpired term, which runs through January 2029, and that Council will appoint a replacement. Commissioners discussed whether to hold nominations for vice chair at the same meeting or postpone until the August meeting due to absences.
Nominations were opened, a commissioner nominated "commissioner Joe Lucci" for vice chair, and another motion to elect a named commissioner was made, seconded and approved by voice vote "Aye," recorded as "Motion passes 4 0." The commission then moved to adjourn.
