The planning commission approved a revised final development plan permitting chain link fencing at New Life Church, with staff-recommended landscaping to screen the fence from the public realm.
The applicant said the fence would be placed on the west side of the existing church facility and that the church runs numerous child-oriented programs such as vacation Bible school, which informed the request. Planning staff referenced the site's original final development plan approved in February 2020, said the current request was limited to the deviation to allow the fence, and recommended additional landscaping because the site is visible from 188th/191st streets.
A commissioner moved, another seconded, and the commission approved the revised plan by voice vote, recorded as "Motion passes 4 0." Staff said most original conditions for the site had already been met and that the requested deviation raised no major concerns, subject to the added landscaping.
