Ponderosa Middle School eighth-grade students Braydon Henderson and Wyatt Sargent updated the board on school highlights: a well-attended open house, Playworks recess support to improve safe and inclusive outdoor spaces, athletic achievements, and teacher professional development in reading and math.
Students noted upcoming events including Active Threat Training with KFCS police and school resource officers on Oct. 16 and a band concert on Oct. 23. Board members thanked the students for their presentation and acknowledged the school's focus on culture and student engagement.
The report was informational and provided the board with student perspectives on program and culture initiatives.
