Mayor proclaims February Black History Month; Johnson County NAACP plans public program

Robertson thanked the council for the proclamation and described the NAACP’s upcoming programming. She said the county NAACP has more than 100 members and serves cities across Johnson County and invited residents to a free Black History Month program on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Shawnee Church of the Nazarene; the program will feature a speaker who survived Jonestown. Robertson said the NAACP appreciates the city’s recognition and the feedback on flags and outreach.
