Public Works Superintendent Dan Nasalroad informed the council of a failing section on south 4th Street where the road base is gone and the surface has sagged. Nasalroad said staff is considering cutting out the damaged section and placing AB3 as a temporary repair until full roadway work can be scheduled.
Nasalroad also reported a two-week notice from a Park Maintenance Laborer I and asked permission to advertise for a part-time seasonal summer general-maintenance employee for the park. Council Member Thomas Capp moved to allow Nasalroad to place the ad; Council Member David Brenneman seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
No construction contract was authorized at the meeting; the temporary AB3 repair was presented as an interim measure while staff develops permanent repair options.
