Mayor proclaims National First Responders Day, presents certificate to local Eagle Scout

Mayor Bob Pape read a proclamation honoring first responders and declared Oct. 28, 2025, as National First Responders Day for Merriam, applauding firefighters, police, EMTs, 911 dispatchers and paramedics for their service.
Pape also presented a letter and a certificate of achievement to Tyson Boyer, recognizing Boyer's Eagle Scout accomplishments, leadership on a fish-hatchery service project at Antioch Park, and service as a student advisor on the park board. The mayor invited Boyer and his family to the front for photos and said the city is "proud to present this certificate of achievement to Tyson Boyer."
