City Attorney Burton Harding presented a draft agreement pertaining to removal of a condemned garage at 402 S. Broadway and discussed next steps. Council Member Jerome Mitzner moved to empower Mayor Debra Wilson to send the agreement to the owner for signature; the motion was seconded and passed 2-1 (Nay: Council Member David Brenneman).
Council Member David Brenneman objected to the practice of the city accepting property in lieu of assessments, saying he was concerned the value of the land could fall. City Attorney Harding indicated he would forward the agreement and prepare a new deed with the legal description attached.
