Assistant Superintendent Carpenter told the board the district ran 52 summer camps with only one significantly affected by COVID, purchased about $120,000 in new equipment for athletics and activities, and served roughly 350 students in summer programming.
Carpenter also described credit-recovery outcomes and graduation figures: he said 120 classes were enrolled in summer credit recovery with 80 completed and that the summer work helped increase the four‑year graduation count — he reported a preliminary tally of 145 out of 168 seniors (about 88%). “It resulted in three more graduates in the class of 2021,” Carpenter said, and staff noted the full, validated graduation data will be finalized in January.
Carpenter and other staff flagged continuing concerns for freshmen on track after pandemic interruptions: freshmen on-track rates declined in 2021 and staff said they will target interventions in coming years. The board asked for a fuller written report in November that will include final financials and the complete student-count submission to the state.
