Interim Business Director Melissa Reagan told the La Grande School District No. 1 board on Sept. 11 that the district's Aug. 31 financials show a beginning fund balance of $427,589 over budget. "We are currently showing a beginning fund balance of $427,589 over budget," Reagan said during her report.
Reagan said the district is waiting for the state to finalize the State School Fund (SSF) before presenting a formal resolution to the board. She also told directors that auditors will be on site the first week of October to begin the year-end work. The board did not take further action on the financials at the meeting and placed the matter on a future agenda pending SSF updates.
