Principal Monica West told the board that trainings from the prior year — including RTI, Core Collaborative and the GROW Series for new teachers — are continuing and supporting student learning. West said buildings are using classroom routines (the 5/10 rule and the 60-second rule) and that district students are showing at least a year’s growth in English Language Arts; math growth was described as positive but not as large.
Principal Chelsea Hurliman reported a graduation/completer rate of 97% for students completing high school with a diploma or certificate and said the district’s systems should allow the rate to be maintained. Board members discussed continuing professional development and monitoring assessment data to sustain growth.
