District earmarks $999,900 from land sale for Tiger Homes; Team Oregon Build to donate materials

Board members heard updates on the Tiger House project and funding sources during the superintendent's report.
Superintendent George Mendoza told the board that "the $999,900 from the sale of land to Grande Ronde Hospital will be for the Tiger Homes development. General Fund dollars will not be used for Tiger Homes." Assistant Superintendent Scott Carpenter said Team Oregon Build "will be helping to support our Tiger House project with the donation of vinyl fencing and flooring" and that the group plans to provide additional funds for a second Tiger House beginning in September. Mendoza said he will present more about the Tiger House at the September board meeting.
The board asked for continued updates and the superintendent’s Sept. presentation will provide further detail on scope and timing.
