The La Grande School District No. 1 board on Aug. 14 received a construction update on the Wildcat Center from Superintendent George Mendoza.
Mendoza said substantial work remains before the first day of school but reported the project is currently under budget. "We are under budget, but most likely will be right at the budgeted amount as the project is finalized," he said. The district also listed a Wildcat Center grand-opening event scheduled for Sept. 25.
The update was provided as part of the superintendent's report; no board action was required. Board members asked for continued updates as the project moves from construction closeout to occupancy.
