Superintendent outlines summer facility projects and a school safety grant submission

Superintendent John Wyrick told the board the district completed and scheduled several 2023 summer projects across facilities. He reported the Meadow View restroom remodel is complete; the Meadow View parking lot is expected to be finished next week; Meadow View window replacement is scheduled for completion in September; Meadow View HVAC is complete; Harrison Gym boiler work is expected to finish in September; the Mound Valley hallway project will be done next week; Edna Grade HVAC is expected by the end of August and window replacement will begin in September; AGS/Meadow Valley HVAC work is complete; and a chip/seal of the west-side LCHS parking lot should finish this week.
Wyrick also said the district submitted a School Safety Grant and is "anxiously waiting on approval." The board received the report for budget planning purposes; Wyrick said he will use the 2022–23 state assessment results as input for the 2023–24 budget process.
