USD 506 elects board officers for 2023–24; all motions pass unanimously

The Labette County Unified School District (USD) 506 Board of Education completed its annual election of officers at the July 10, 2023 meeting in Altamont, selecting Jessie Foister as board president and Dr. Kolette Smith as vice-president for the 2023–24 school year. The board also approved Cindy Dean as board clerk, Chris Kastler as deputy clerk and Jerica Wilson as treasurer; each motion carried 6-0.
Rich Falkenstien made the motions to elect Foister and Dr. Kolette Smith, with Brian Harlow seconding. The board approved each nomination by voice vote. The elections were handled early in the meeting following the approval of the printed agenda with an added personnel item.
