During the public-comment period, a rider identified as Susie reported a slip-and-fall incident at Haymarket station caused by widespread wet floors.
"I had to route my trip through Haymarket and the floors were all wet. I had a slip and fall there," Susie said. Laura Brailsford acknowledged the problem as part of ongoing water infiltration issues in multiple station structures and told the rider SWA would reach out to the maintenance team to check for any unique conditions at Haymarket and follow up once they had the incident date.
Brailsford emphasized that water infiltration affects platforms and can enter elevators and escalators, complicating service. She asked the rider to provide the date so staff could investigate and promised SWA would raise the issue with the maintenance team if no known cause was already logged.
The MBTA did not provide a timeline for repairs in the meeting transcript but committed to a follow-up conversation with the rider and maintenance staff.
