Stephanie Boyse explained CARS funds typically cover up to half of construction and inspection costs and that Mission’s proposed 2027 project list includes Knoll Avenue (67th to Martway) with an estimated total of $943,483 and a Mission contribution of $589,739, and later Martway Street segments and a potential Johnson Drive/Ash Drive signal replacement project. “This is a joint project with Prairie Village,” Boyse said of Knoll Avenue, noting interlocal coordination and that final funding commitments require subsequent interlocal agreements.
Boyse said some 2030 and 2031 projects are placeholders for budgeting and design, and details will be refined as designs are completed and the council updates the comprehensive street maintenance program. She emphasized the county must still adopt its CIP before final construction funding is committed, and that the city’s approval of the resolution does not obligate Mission to immediate expenditures.
