Committee backs design contract for 2027 pavement maintenance project on N Avenue

Brent Morton presented the 2027 CARS maintenance project for N Avenue (67th to Martway). He described the work as primarily a surface treatment—a micro-mill and asphalt overlay—with spot curb and sidewalk replacements and a new crosswalk survey area. Morton said the corridor was reconstructed in 2010–2011 and is due for a new surface and striping.
Cost estimates: total project construction estimate approximately $897,634.65 and a design contract with Olson and Associates for $46,118. Prairie Village will participate in the project via an interlocal agreement; Morton said design and construction costs will be apportioned, with Prairie Village covering roughly 25% of the total and Mission about 75%. The committee recommended approval on the regular agenda.
