The City of Mission council voted to approve a lot split at 5618 Reeds, clearing the way for James Ingle Custom Homes to divide a 0.4-acre parcel and build two single-family houses.
Taylor, planning staff, told the council the existing lot contains an approximately 1,400-square-foot home and that the applicant proposes two new homes just over 1,800 square feet with three bedrooms and three bathrooms each. "The new lots proposed by James Ingle Custom Homes are 62.5 feet, so that does meet our code requirements," Taylor said, explaining staff’s block-average lot-width calculation and why the application satisfies the 75% test. Council received no neighborhood objections; Taylor said notices go to residents within 200 feet and no comments were returned.
A council member moved to approve the lot split; after a roll call the mayor announced the motion carries. The approval was made as presented by staff; the council did not add conditions during the vote. The decision permits the applicant to proceed with the subdivision and subsequent building permits, subject to standard permitting and inspections.
