Trustees adopt fee schedule for unauthorized as‑built dock improvements; $8/sq ft or $600 minimum
Summary
Trustees voted to adopt a fee structure for unauthorized as‑built dock changes: a one‑time $8 per square‑foot as‑built fee (or $600 minimum) and up to two years of backdated $1/sq ft annual fees for structures modified after the moratorium; trustees said applicants may instead restore structures to prior dimensions.

Trustee John Aldred read a resolution establishing a fee structure for unauthorized as‑built improvements to docks, floating docks, platforms, walkways and bulkheads within trustee jurisdiction. The resolution sets a one‑time as‑built fee of $8 per square foot or a $600 minimum; for improvements in place two or more years prior to 08/01/2026, trustees will charge the standard $1 per square foot annual structure agreement fee backdated for up to two years.
The resolution offers an alternative for applicants who do not accept the fee terms: owners may return the structure to its prior dimensions and configuration. "Now therefore be it resolved beginning 08/01/2026, the trustees will adopt the following fee structure... A one‑time as built fee of $8 per square foot... or a flat fee of $600 whichever is greater," the reading said. After discussion and clarification, a trustee moved, a second was recorded, and the board voted 'Aye' to adopt the resolution.
Trustees said the policy aims to reconcile long‑standing unrecorded modifications while preserving the trustees' authority to require restoration or deny reconciliations where appropriate. The resolution also preserves trustee discretion on case‑by‑case determinations and may be amended by future trustee resolution.
