Frankfort waives small permit fees for park and demolition work, board asks for inspection schedule

Building services representative Rob presented three permit-fee waiver requests: a $35 waiver for Campos Construction to do concrete work at Prairie Creek Park, a $200 waiver for Hoosier Heartland Dirt Works to demo the Frankfort railroad roundhouse, and a $300 waiver for six soil borings (Terracon) for the Mash Road project. The board voted to waive the fees and asked building services to provide inspection scheduling and follow-up information for the demolition work.
Rob said the demolition request is part of a cleanup effort tied to a REDI-type grant and that staff will inspect the site as work proceeds. “We will go down there when that is cleaned up and make sure that they've done what they said,” Rob said, and he offered to get an updated schedule to the board so members could monitor the process.
