The Board of Trustees considered a motion to retain Tyson Flannery as the head baseball coach on Jan. 26, 2026, but the retention motion failed when put to a public show-of-hands vote. The minutes note that "a motion was made by Doug Rupp and seconded by Matt Cox to retain Tyson Flannery as head baseball coach," which was later voted on after executive-session deliberations; at the public vote Matt Cox voted no, Jeremy Howard voted no and Doug Rupp voted yes, producing a majority against retention. Trustee Jared Kovick had recused himself from the vote earlier due to an asserted conflict of interest.
