The Owosso City Council on July 6 appointed the current members of the Owosso Historic District Commission to serve as a Historic District Study Committee to evaluate adding the Carnegie Library property (Parcel No. 505‑120‑008‑008‑00) to the downtown Owosso Historic District.
The resolution (No. 110‑2026) directs the study committee to apply National Register of Historic Places criteria, prepare a preliminary report, transmit findings to the Owosso Planning Commission and State Historic Preservation Office, and hold a public hearing at least 60 days after transmittal. The committee will then prepare a final report with recommendations for council consideration of an ordinance to amend district boundaries as required by Act 169.
