Council approves contract with CyberShip LLC after staff outlines rate increases

The council approved a resolution authorizing the Plaquemines Port Harbor and Terminal District to enter into a contract with CyberShip LLC to provide computer and software management services.
Mr. Mahali explained the contract covers technical services for the port's accounts-receivable software and said the proposed fee structure raises the hourly rate from $94 to $155 and adds a $139 monthly storage and backup fee. "The fee went from $94 an hour to a $155 per hour, and then there is also a $139 monthly storage and backup fee," he said, adding that the $139 fee could be eliminated if the port acquires or upgrades an on-site server.
The machines were opened for voting and the resolution passed unanimously, recorded as 8-0. Mr. Mahali said he had provided a contract comparison memo to board members and is exploring options to remove the monthly storage fee by working with the port's other contracted IT firm.
