NRPC presents Road Erosion Inventory: 12 Isle La Motte segments noncompliant with state standards

Kyle Grenier of NRPC presented the 2025 Road Erosion Inventory (REI), reporting that Isle La Motte has 206 hydraulically connected road segments: 134 fully meet state erosion-control standards, 60 partially meet standards, and 12 are not in compliance. Kyle emphasized that compliance affects eligibility for state grant programs and that the town must prioritize noncompliant segments for upgrades to secure funding.
Board members Pat Treckman and Robin Gutierrez volunteered to inspect a segment Kyle flagged as very high need because sediment was traveling toward the lake. The board will compare new REI maps with older maps to identify segments that have degraded more rapidly and will work with NRPC and VTrans on engineering recommendations prior to submitting grant applications.
