The Newdale City Council voted unanimously July 3 to move forward with an agreement with Fybercom to install fiber-optic cable in the city. Paul Sorenson of Fybercom told the council that "Fybercom has signed with the City of Teton and would like to move forward with City of Newdale," and said IT Underground of Salt Lake City would perform the installation.
Council member Brett Leavitt made the motion to proceed, Council member Kevin VanWagner seconded, and Mayor Chad Stevens signed the agreement. Sorenson told the council the installation "will take about a month to complete" and could begin this fall. The contract was described in the meeting record as similar to an agreement Fybercom signed with a neighboring municipality (City of Teton).
