Parish updates: Highway 11 patching, Belle Chasse concrete, water billing migration and new fire truck

A parish staff member provided several routine administration updates. Highway 11 patching south of Kazoo Drive is near completion and crews will move to patching near Empire Bridge; the Belle Chasse concrete package is expected to be finished by next week, weather permitting. The staff update said the new water billing system has been populated with data from the old system and that employees are double‑checking transfers and correcting a small number of accounts by hand; the migration review should take two to three weeks.
The parish also received a new fire truck for Woodlawn Station that “pumps 1,500 gallons of water per minute, carries 1,000 gallons on board, and has a 30‑gallon foam system for fuel and chemical fires,” the staff member said. The vehicle will require mounting of equipment and training before it is placed in service, likely within a few weeks to a month.
