Golden Gate BUILD grant not awarded; CRA staff plan to reapply

Susan Korres, director of the Office of Community Development, told the CRA that the county did not receive the BUILD grant for the Golden Gate multimodal corridor and drainage resilience project but that staff plan to reapply.
"We did not receive the BUILD grant from the Federal Government for that large project in Golden Gate, but I believe we will reapply," Korres said, and added that design work already completed with consultant DDEC can be carried forward. She said the CRA and public works will continue drainage and stormwater work (increasing pond/STAs and improving water quality) through county-led efforts while awaiting future grant opportunities.
Board members asked timing and next steps for Golden Gate outreach and design; Korres said a landscape vision plan open house was held May 27 at the Cassidy Center and that the project remains a priority for future grant cycles.
